Though originally a project of CreateHere, Plugdin is currently administered by YPAC. Since taking ownership of the program, YPAC has reached out to a new audience of students at UTC, and the program continues to grow under their dynamic leadership. To read a bit more about why we graduate programs into the community, visit our Supernova page.

Plugdin is a citywide residency program that reaches Chattanooga’s interns across disciplines, engages work- and off-hours, and cultivates leadership skills.

Companies big and small use internships to gauge if they want to hire young people. But students and recent graduates also use internships to try on a career while building a resume. Internship programs and their purveyors are invaluable tools in cultivating and retaining a pool of talented professionals locally.

Plugdin was designed to attract and retain a dynamic workforce in Chattanooga by eliminating barriers to entry, in the workplace and outside of it. The program’s major strength is in its ability to connect interns with other young professionals, giving them the opportunity to round out their view of this city. We believe civic engagement takes more than just keeping your fingers crossed. It takes working together, understanding your community, inside and out; and maybe even calling it home. Plugdin introduces Chattanooga’s interns to Chattanooga, in hopes of seeing many lasting relationships develop as a result.
